Privacy policy
How your personal data is collected, used and protected as part of GHAYIB 2026.
Data controller
The Commission Jeunes of the Forum Galien Africa is the controller for the data collected on this platform.
Data collected
Identity and contact details (name, date of birth, gender, nationality, country of residence, city, phone, email address), information about your organisation, the content of your project, your team composition, and the documents you upload.
Purposes
Running the competition: processing applications, jury assessment, finalist selection, communication with applicants, and the aggregated geographic and gender diversity analysis required by the terms of reference.
Legal basis
Your explicit consent, collected at the declarations step of the form, and the pre-contractual steps linked to your participation.
Recipients
The technical secretariat and the appointed jury members, each limited to the dossiers assigned to them. Jury members accept a confidentiality and conflict-of-interest declaration before any access. No data is sold or transferred for commercial purposes.
Retention
Personal data from applications that are not selected is purged twelve months after the edition closes. Finalists' data is kept longer for institutional communication and the GAYIN network.
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. To exercise them, contact the technical secretariat quoting your reference number. You may lodge a complaint with Senegal's personal data protection commission (CDP).
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions encrypted, and documents stored in a private space reachable only through short-lived signed links. Sensitive access is logged.
Transfers outside the country
Data is hosted with infrastructure providers located in the European Union. Because applicants come from across the continent and the diaspora, the processing is designed to respect Senegal's Law 2008-12 as well as GDPR principles.
